The Bridge: A Hospitality & Tourism Intelligence Digest has selected the study “Tourist assessment of nightlife in Zagreb through TripAdvisor reviews” by Marko Raič and Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, PhD, from the Institute for Development and International Relations, as an example of scientific research translated into practical application. The study is the result of work carried out within the IRMO Centre for Sustainable Development through Culture (CORK) and the BORE project. The Bridge was founded by Dr Jafar Jafari of the University of Wisconsin (USA), one of the founding figures of tourism as an academic discipline and a globally recognised authority in the field. The Bridge journal bridges academic knowledge in tourism with the professional sector, delivering current research findings in a form ready for practical use.
The article “What Keeps Nightlife Tourists Coming Back“, based on the Zagreb case study, examines how tourists evaluate a city’s nightlife through online reviews and encourages professionals to monitor visitor sentiment on an ongoing basis. The authors demonstrate how cities and hospitality sector can identify areas for improvement in time by regularly tracking nightlife review sentiment, before negative impressions begin to affect a destination’s reputation.
The article is available in the current issue of The Bridge – A Hospitality & Tourism Intelligence Digest: What Keeps Nightlife Tourists Coming Back – https://issuu.com/visitmalta/docs/the_bridge_-_issue_02_, and the full study is available here: https://czasopisma.uni.lodz.pl/tourism/article/view/27766
