IRMO researcher at the round table READING AND FOOD: Food & Mood

Dr. sc. Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, Coordinator of the Center for Sustainable Development through Culture within the BORE project, participated in the 4th round table from 23-24 May 2025. on the potential for the development of smaller towns and cities by promoting books and reading READING AND FOOD: Food & Mood in Blato on Korčula from 23-24 May 2025. The round table, organized by the Croatian Library Association – Reading Commission with partners, is experiencing its fourth edition this year, and deals with current topics and the new role of libraries that are becoming multifunctional places with a prominent social role and the potential for local development. Dr. Jelinčić, in her presentation ‘Hunger for knowledge, letters on a plate: reading material for creating a gastronomic experience’, presented the results of research on the topic of the economy of gastronomic experience, and on the adaptation of the gastronomic sector to climate change, and presented examples of good practice in connecting libraries and gastronomy. The round table presented interesting research and practical examples that prove that libraries have an extremely strong role in ensuring the economic, social, environmental and cultural sustainability of smaller towns and cities.
