As part of the annual regular session of the Croatian Evaluation Society (HEVAL) held on March 11, 2025, a panel discussion on evaluation education in Croatia took place at the Tribina Grada Zagreba venue. Dr. Sanja Maleković, Emerita of the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), participated as an invited speaker on the panel.
The discussion focused on acquired experiences and the necessary knowledge in the field of evaluation, particularly the evaluation of strategic planning documents as a basis for the formulation and subsequent evaluation of public policies. The panelists shared their experiences and discussed the need for the development of evaluation education, the need for training in public administration within the context of the national system of strategic planning and management, the required capacities for evaluating EU programs and projects, as well as the development of knowledge in applying qualitative and quantitative research methods in the implementation of evaluations.
